Hello cp,

Marriages Sep 1845
Cobb William Bristol 11 223
Cole Mary Bristol 11 223
Cridland Jane Bristol 11 223
Davies William Bristol 11 223
DAVIS William Bristol 11 223
FRY Frederick Bristol 11 223
Howes Ann Bristol 11 223
Lambert Mary Rebecca Bristol 11 223
LEAR James Bristol 11 223

I'm hoping we can match these and find by elimination that James LEAR married Ann HOWES.

I'll start looking for marriage records on FamilySearch site.

Hello cp,

Thanks. That shows that Ann was not there in 1851.

The census listings give Ann's birth about 1827.

Martha is not there because she married in 1838.

Re Evan v. Aaron there are some Evan LEARs in the area. But I can't find enough to rule that marriage out on the basis of the father's name.

What next?

One we have not yet found in 1841 is Joseph LEWTON born abt 1826 Bitton.

Any chance he is listed as HODGES :D as his brother George seems to be or as LEAR as his sister Elizabeth and brother James seem to be. He married Mary PEACOCK in 1847 so he is single. He was a cheese hawker in 1851.

Regards,

Dave

Hello cp,

Thanks.

I refuse to believe that tree. :2fun:

I think sister Martha's spouse as a witness is good enough for me. :)

A bit curious the HOWES site didn't have Ann's marriage.

Regards,

Dave
