Thanks Geoff.

I looked again yesterday and could not find this burial.

Burial V1836544 20/1836 BIRCHAM JAMES AGE 65

Vol 20 is CofE and even knowing the date June 1836 and location Parramatta I could not find it. The reg # 544 has to be an error or pages are missing from the film.

It is a good time line if it can be verified.

A marriage with no Application to Marry 6 years before he gets his ToL is hard to believe.

Married 4 years after being given a life sentence. ??

Can confirm one event. 13 years after conviction.

The Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser (NSW : 1803 - 1842) - Monday 28 November 1825 p.3
...
That the Individuals named below shall have Conditional Pardons ; viz.
... James Bircham Fortune (2)
