1833 a daughter Mary Ann aged abt 15 died after knocking a candle over...

V1833423 17/1833 EDROP MARY A AGE 14

Born in England. So how many children arrived with Mary and when?

The Sydney Monitor (NSW : 1828 - 1838 ) - Friday 31 August 1838 p.3
Deaths.
On Friday, the 24th instant, at her residence, Sussex-street, Mrs James Edrop, after a short illness, much and deservedly respected by all to whom she was known.

V18382191 22/1838 EDROP MARY AGE 40

Births:
V1828218 12/1828 EDROP JAMES R JAMES R MARY
V1831411 15/1831 EDROP HANNAH S JAMES MARY

The only EDROP death in NSW 1822-1930 with parents James & Mary:

8873/1898 EDROP JAMES R - JAMES R - MARY - BOWRAL

Marriage V1840331 24B/1840 CORNER EDWARD - EDROP ELIZA - CB= CofE St John's Parramatta

So it looks as though Mary arrived with two daughters Mary Ann and Eliza.

Hi Dave

London, England, Marriages and Banns, 1754-1921
Name: James Robert Edrop
Spouse Name: Mary Single
Record Type: Marriage
Event Date: 27 Oct 1817
Parish: Islington St Mary
Borough: Islington
Register Type: Parish Register
Original difficult to read.. One of the witnesses: John Edrop and possibly, farmer.
I've sent you a copy.

One of the original banns entries looks like Lingle, but probably the S is over-accentuated.

Geoff
