Hello crankypants,

Please see if you can find a different transcription to this 1841 census and see if you can find any of the family in 1861. We don't know when James and spouse Eleanor and the other children arrived in Australia. Did we search before for them in 1861?

1841
HO107/712/9 = Mile End Old Town(upper part)
Folio 21, Page 35
Jubilee Street
ANDERSON
James - 35 - cl. - born Ireland
Eleanor - 30 - born Ireland
Lucy - 7
Eleanor - 5
Ella - 3
Marcella - 1
1851
HO107; Piece: 1545; Folio: 399; Page: 26
St. Mary Whitechapel
Hereford Terrace
ANDERSON
James - 47 - solicitors clerk - born Dublin,Ireland
Eleanor - 41 - born Athlone, Ireland
Mary Jane - 19 - milliner - born Dublin
Sarah Anne - 15 - app. milliner - born Stepney
Ella Elizabeth - 12 - born Stepney
Marcella L. - 10 - born Stepney
Ann A. - 8 - born Stepney
Eleanor - 4 - born Whitechapel
Margaret - under 2 months - born Whitechapel
Mary Jane, (Lucy Eleanor) & Sarah Ann won't be in 1861 Census.

'Ella' is probably Ellen Elizabeth. Marcella Lynch & Ann Alicia. No middle names it seems for the last two.

Thanks.

Regards,

Dave

Hi Dave

Sent 1841 index & image.

Yes I was hoping the younger girls remained with mother Eleanor but I can't see them in 1861.
If they came out as unassisted before 1861 they could be indexed under MR & MRS Anderson & Miss Anderson.

cheers
