Hi, I am looking for the marriage James Hardy b 1874 6d 394. He was not married - 1891 census. but was married by 1901 - 1901 census 2879,29 So his marriage must lie between 1891 and 1901. The 1911 census 14,18367 shows a marriage to Mary Hardy.

I can not find this marriage - help please.

Mike.

Hi Mike,

The James Hardy you gave the link for, this was his marriage :

Name: James Hardy
Gender: Male
Birth Year: abt 1875
Marriage Date: 15 Apr 1899
Marriage Age: 24
Marriage Place: Kings Norton, St Nicolas, England
Spouse: Ada Gertrude Spink
Spouse Gender: Female
Spouse Marriage Age: 22
Father: James Hardy
Spouse's Father: Joseph Spink
Reference Number: EP4/2/3/5
Archive Roll: M382/M383

The Birmingham records are on Ancestry. James' father is a Blacksmith which matches the 1901 census, James is a Railway stoker and single in the census, and on the marriage he says he is a fireman.

Also having trouble locating James in the 1911 census.

Hi,

Possible that James and Ada Gertrude (nee Spink) had a daughter Mabel Gertrude. It maybe that this family went to Canada. There is a Ida G Hardy, James Hardy and a Mabel G on the 1910 Canada census which I'm unable to view to check details.
