It's ok thanks Ellie.

I put it here in the 'no look ups' just as an example of the quality of transcriptions.

I've been viewing some images on A... at the local library in recent weeks and surprised by the number of errors. Transcription errors of all sorts - wrong folio, or sub-RD, wrong household grouping, poor interpretation of names, occupations, pob.

There are lots were words are hard to read but there are also plenty where I can't see how the mistake could have been made.

I will work through every census record in my tree and view the image myself. It will take more than a year.

I came to that census via Ellis Lipscombe who is in my tree and noticed the rather poor transcription of Ives.

Lipscombe family is all done and I'm not chasing Ives.

I have the 1851 census for Bucks on CD. Took me hours to go through it, to find him as JASS.
