Hello,

Death 526/1870 CHANNON JAMES R AGE 40 YEARS DIED SYDNEY SYDNEY

The Sydney Morning Herald - Wednesday 4 May 1870 p.6
CORONER'S INQUEST.
The City Coroner held on inquiry yesterday morning, at the Benevolent Asylum, Pitt Street South, touching the death of Mr. J. R. Channon, who was found lying dead in the Domain, on the previous afternoon, with a pistol shot through his head...

The Sydney Morning Herald - Thursday 5 May 1870 p.8
FUNERALS
THE FRIENDS of the late Mr. JAMES CHANNON are invited to attend his Funeral, to move from his late residence, Newtown Road, THIS (Thursday) AFTERNOON, at half-past 2 o'clock.
J. and G. SHYING, Undertakers, 719 George-street South ; 120, South Head Road ; and Abercrombie-street.

Very curious the notice does not mention where James was buried.

I'd like a look up please for Waverley / South Head Cemeteries. I've checked Rookwood and Woronora.

Regards,

Dave
