Baptism South Molton Weslyan James Russell 1 August 1855 Parents James and Maria. Abode Molland.

No marriage found for James and Maria but it may well be non conformist. No GRO marriage found either.

Not sure how long ago I got that bit with the birth as 10/11/1854.

That Wesleyan baptism would fit given this:

... Mr. Russell was 72 years of age, and a widower, ... a native of Ward Mill, Devonshire, England, and at the age of 8 years came to this country with his parents ... The interment took place this afternoon at the Methodist portion of the Frogmore cemetery, the Rev. Mr. Gibson conducting the burial service, and Mr. O. J. Stuart the funeral arrangements.
