Hey all,

I am struggling with finding some information on my paternal grandfather and would really appreciate some help from people who are better at this than me :)

my paternal grandfather (James Thomas Luke Saunders) was born in Bristol approx 1878 and moved to Birmingham where he married Susan Ann Shute. Between then they have 5 sons and 2 daughters however I cant seem to find anything else about him such as where / when he died, where he is buried or what really happenned to him.

I have a paid ancestry subscription and have searched as best as I can yet still ant seem to see what happenned to him.

I have a feeling that his remains are one of the large number of unclaimed remains currently in the vaulty of the crematorium in Yardley Birmingham.

Anyone offer some much needed help please?

Thanks

Scott

Hi

I can't see a birth that would fit with 1878, though there is this:

Birth reg., Q1 1872
SAUNDERS James Thomas, Bedminster, 5c 774

If the above birth is correct, this death would fit, though would need checking out.

Death reg., Q3 1926
Saunders James, age 54, Birmingham S., 6d 218

There is also this birth:

Q3 1873
Saunders James Clifton 6a 122

I am wondering it that is an error in the index:

Deaths Mar Qtr 1950
Saunders James T E 82 Dartford 5b 499

Ruled out by this:

Births Jun Qtr 1868
SAUNDERS James Thomas E Maidstone 2a 595

Thanks for all the replies, it's a strange one as I have got his marriage certificate to Sarah Shute which confirms his a being born approx 1878 along with the 1911 census which again backs that date up.

This is a strange

Hi Dave,

the marriage is correct as it matches the certificate that I have obtained along with the birth certificate for Edna which again matches the date below, the birth however about 6 years out verse the age at the wedding. The same can be said for the 1911 census which supports the approx 1878 birth of James T L Saunders.

mental!
