In the early hours of Tuesday, 13th June, there passed peacefully to his reward an aged servant of God in the person of James White Clark in the 91st year of his age. The late Mr. Clark was born in Wiltshire, England, in 1849, and came with his parents to Australia two years later, his people yielding to the lure of the diggings in Victoria. After some time at Ballarat they moved by team into N.S.W. etc

A very old resident, in the person of Mrs. T. Clark, widow of the late Thomas Clark, of Denison-street, passed to her rest last night at the advanced age of 85 years. She was a native of Wiltshire, England, and had lived in Mudgee for 50 years. ... The funeral takes place to-morrow, to the Methodist portion of the Mudgee cemetery.

Obit says James arrived with his parents at age abt 2.

If they married in Australia then James was born before they married ??

No birth for a Jame White or James Clark with mmn blank.

No birth in Vic. index for James.

Thomas should be in 1851 census if 1852 is correct arrival.

The obit must be totally wrong re birth in England and arrival with parents two years later ??
