If James was born Wilts in 1849 then I can't find the birth reg which should be White with mmn blank.

Arrival with mother not yet found.

I don't think they married twice so the only marriage was the one in Vic.

I can't find a Rachel White born abt 1823 Wilts in England in 1851 census.

I can't find a James White born abt 1848 Wilts in England in 1851 census with mother Rachel or with grandparents.

I reckon James does not belong to Thomas so maybe saying they were married before coming out here as not to let their kids know that she was unmarried when she had James. Hence marriage in VIC but the kids not knowing that.

Don't know where the middle name Grant comes from.

Burden on White side and Thorogood on Clark side.

If the obit is correct the arrival of Rachel and James was 1851.

Can't find arrival 1850, 1851 or 1852 on PROV.

Yeah i have been checking as well and can't find a arrival neither.

Rachel was about 5 years older than Thomas going by ages on the cemetery records. Not that it makes a difference.
