Marriage 1271/1860 WALLIS JOHN - CARROLL JANE - BATHURST

Bathurst Free Press and Mining Journal (NSW : 1851-1904) - Wednesday 15 August 1860 p.2
MARRIED.
On August 9th, at Evans' Plains near Bathurst, by the Rev. J. B. Laughton, John Wallis of Bathurst (formerly of Arthurstown, Ireland,) to Jane, only daughter of the late William Carroll, of Bathurst.

Death 7104/1907 WALLIS JANE - WILLIAM - AGNES - WELLINGTON

Wellington Times (NSW : 1899 - 1954) - Monday 27 May 1907 p.2
OBITUARY.
The death occurred on Friday of Mrs. Wallis, of Comobella, age 78, wife of Mr. John Wallis, who has been successfully farming there for about twenty years. Deceased leaves, besides her husband, who is well over four score years, a son and a daughter, who reside on the farm. The funeral cortege left Comobella on the same day for the Wellington railway station, the burial taking place on Saturday in Bathurst, where the late Mrs. Wallis and her husband resided for many years prior to coming to the Wellington district. Mr. Jas. Thompson conducted the funeral arrangements here.

Don't know if Agnes is corect. There are 3x William CARROLL in NSW at that time.

Looking for Jane's parents deaths and for the arrival of the family. Probably from Ireland.

Thanks,

Dave

They were both born about the same time so that would fit.

NSW BMD is down again.

Can't find anything in TROVE for 1858 death.

The 1860 marriage was Presbyterian not RC. Shipping record has John as CofE.

The 1855 burial is not the convict by age and denomination.

Would be good to find who the convict married to rule him out for sure.

Still looking for Jane's arrival.

The deaths in post #2 are probably parents.
