No, I posted Fairfull/Sadler mar. because of the names. Jane Fairfull could be from the Edwards side
That may be the right baptism for the one who married in 1831 but it may not fit for Jane b. 1821 but I can't see how it fits the other Sadlers either.

John must have married another Jane between 1870 and 1880. The baptism of Rose has her mother as Jane Eliza and Beatrice just as Jane, both recorded next to each other..

The age of Jane i 1881 is 29y, I just thought that was an error, may be it wasn't

Several possible marriages for an Abraham EDWARDS. If we say London, Middlesex or Surrey it's down to 3 possible - Ann, Catherine or Sarah.
If we assume it's Ann where does that take us? :)

Does this marriage exist or has it been crossed out of the register?

Abraham Edwards
Spouse's Name: Ann Jay
Event Date: 19 Sep 1830
Event Place: St. Anne's, Westminster, Middlesex

====
A witness to the 1860 marriage is a Sarah Jay EDWARDS.

Marriages Dec Qtr 1862
Edwards Sarah Jay Marylebone 1a 904
Katon Charles Owen Marylebone 1a 904

Deaths Mar Qtr 1902
Katon Sarah Jay 71 S. Stoneham 2c 44

Born abt 1831 Marlborough, Wilts - father James, a baker - mother Mary.

Does not seem to fit as Mary JAY. Trying to see if Ann and Mary were sisters.

Age (Original): 49
Gender: Female
Birth Year: 1832

Relationship to Head of Household: Wife
Marital Status: Married
Address: 9 Charlesworth St
Event Place: Islington, Middlesex, England

One tree has this baptism for Sarah but it's plainly wrong:

Sarah Edwards

There are some baptisms with parents Abraham a coachman and Anne but also some that can't be found, such as one around 1822 for Charlotte.

Marriages Sep Qtr 1841
Edwards Charlotte Wandsworth 4 491
McKEE Scott Wandsworth 4 491

If Abraham was buried in 1832 then age at death for daughter does not fit details in her marriage unless age in 1861 census 25 and age at death are both out:

Deaths Dec Qtr 1870
Sadler Jane Eliza 34 Shoreditch 1c 146

Several problems. You can't rely on the daughter's marriage saying father Abraham is deceased, or not. Several baptisms missing and a suspect banns entry which seems way too late considering Charlotte must have been born before 1823.

Finding a lot more detail but it only adds to the puzzle.

A tree has spouse as Mary born abt 1803 Everley (Everleigh) and James born 1811 or earlier (rounded down to 30), also Wiltshire.

Some more census details might help such as a trace of James and family:

Name: James Edwards
Event Type: Census
Event Date: 1841
Gender: Male
Age: 30
Birthplace: Wiltshire
Schedule Type: Household
Registration District: Marlborough
Sub-District: Marlborough
Parish: Marlborough St Mary
County: Wiltshire

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave

There is this, but 1817 Banns, can't see the marriage in London or E & W Index...

Abraham Edwards
Spouse Name: Ann Jay
Record Type: Banns
Event Date: 17 Aug 1817

Borough: Westminster

Thanks Geoff.

How curious. Any sign of a James EDWARDS to a Mary JAY banns/marriage?

James EDWARDS may have died 1841-1851 but I think Mary may have been around even in 1861.

No luck with the marriage yet, common names doesn't help

This is the full 1841 census:
Civil Parish: St Mary The Virgin
Hundred: Devizes
County: Wiltshire
RD: Marlborough
Sub-RD: Marlborough
Piece: 1189; Book: 3; ED: 12; Folio: 26; Page: 2

James Edwards 30 [b. Wilts. Baker]
Mary Edwards 40 [do]
Matild Edwards 11 Mo [do]

This would put James' death abt. 1843
1851:
Civil Parish: Marlborough St Mary
Town: Marlborough
County: Wiltshire
RD: Marlborough
Sub-RD: Marlborough
ED: 9b; Piece: 1838; Folio: 174; Page: 17

Mary Edwards 48 [b. Everly, Wilts]
Matilda Edwards 10 [b. Marlborough]
Alexander Edwards 8 [do]
