Death 1907 Janet MALCOLM Irvine, Ayr Age 77

Death 1913 Jane MALCOLM Largs, Ayr Age 88

No idea if they are spinsters or married or widows reverting to maiden name.

I'd like a look up please for those two in 1901, assuming either one could be Jane/Jean/Janet in census.

Thanks,

Dave

Not finding a full match on census so far Dave, nor one of the deaths but here's the ref for one death giving other names Muir and Clark to compare with your records

1907 MALCOLM JANET MUIR CLARK F 77 IRVINE /AYR 595/00 0223

Thanks a lot Woody. :)

You need not worry about those census now. I can tell from the other names which one fits and which one does not so neither is the death of one I was looking for.

I have a Janet MALCOLM born abt 1822 Largs and have this so was looking for a death:

1891
Name: Janet Malcolm
Event Type: Census
Event Date: 1891
Gender: Female
Age: 69
Birthplace: Ayrshire
Registration District: Largs
County: Ayrshire
Birth Year (Estimated): 1822

That household for 1891 would be handy thanks.

What about this one? The age could well be 78 - as Geoff said on the other thread, we can't check these images (Left Lasys as transcribed that is obviously Largs)

Thanks Woody.

That seems to be the one.

Looks as though this is the death for William:

Death 1894 MALCOLM William Govan, Lanark Age 68

Some of this ended up in another topic as well.

You have found something with a different transcription of the 1901 that suggests Peter's spouse was a MALCOLM ???

EDIT: Ignore that - I need some sleep. It's married name = spouse of William.

Yes, thanks, I'm awake to that now. Janet is Peter's older sister.

Actually, I'll let you catch up and I'll catch some sleep. :)

Thanks Woody.

It seems daughter Janet was given the middle name Malcolm because William and spouse Janet nee Carmichael were looking after some of Peter & Jean's children from 1861 or even earlier.

This branch of my tree seems ok now so I'll move on to another MALCOLM puzzle.
