I can't find a baptism for daughter Mary on FS.

I also can't find the HOUSTON + WALLACE marriage on FS.

So to search on SP now.

I can't find a record for a Mary HOUSTON born 1851 in Scotland with parents William & Mary (with or without WALLIS/WALLACE)

William Houston (1846-1932), public servant, was born on 14 June 1846 in Sydney, son of William Houston, surgeon, and his wife Mary Anne, née Harris.

William Houston (m.1stly ?) 1845 to Mary Ann Harris
and (2ndly?) 1858 to Maria Jane Holt.
He had four children in total.
His first child, William Houston, CMG, (1846 -1932),
was Under Secretary for Lands, Deputy Administrator of Norfolk Island and Royal Commissioner for distributing N.S.W. into Federal Electoral Districts.

William Houston died in Sydney, State of New South Wales, Australia, in 1868.

There is only one death 1860 - 1870 in NSW for a William HOUSTON and that's the one in post #2


Confirms they are not the right parents.
