However death certificate says born Birmingham. Not sure about that.

Age at death points to 1812.

Looking for possible birth/baptism for Jemima.

Hi Dave,

Did she die in 1877 Stourbridge.

If so, was she married to a John Farmer. Because the 1851 census has a Elizabeth Bingham(1784.Worcester), listed as mother in law to John Farmer.

Jemima Farmer has a birth place of Lye, Worcestershire, in 1851/1861 census.

But I can't find her in 1871.

Steve.:)

Hi Steve,

No

Births Jun Qtr 1840
Farmer Emma Birmingham 16 277

If that is her birth then why is she not with family in 1841 census?

c. 24 Jul 1842 St Lawrence, Sydney, NSW
Edward FARMER & Jemima
Batch: C135443

Baptisms solemnized in Parish of St Lawrence Sydney 1842
No. 121
Baptised 24 July 1842 Born 15 May 1840
Emma - Edward & Jemima Farmer - Parramatta Street - Engineer
By W. H. Walsh

It looks very much as though Emma was born in England and baptised in Sydney.

Except for the very early ones (1788 - 1828 ) the NSW baptism records do not list pob, just abode at time of baptism.

Emma not found in 1841 census and arrival of family not yet found.

Departure & arrival window 6 Jun 1841 - 24 July 1842.

Dave

I think the not born in county is more reliable than the born Birmingham in the death certificate. But saying that I then have to assume parents as listed in death certificate are correct.

We may not find a birth/baptism for Jemima but it would be good to sort daughter Emma out.

Would be this one

Births Sep Qtr 1840
Farmer Emma Wt Bromwich 18 521

Looks like we are out of luck.

Shipping record not found but can't be a 'bv' because baptism record has dob before 1841 census.

The birth reg in post #1 fits for date and name and place so Emma is just missing from 1841 census ??

A few things don't fit Geoff if you have the right marriage.

It's very close to a main line so I'd better get it right.

Burial record has no parents:

Page 98
Burials in the Parish of Camperdown in the County of Cumberland in the year 1857
Edward Farmer Abode: - When Died: June 29 When Buried: July 1 Age: 37 years Ship's Name: - Quality or Profession: Labourer By whom the Ceremony was performed: Charles Kemp or Chas C Kemp ??

Ok, so that age does not fit with the baptism I listed, nor does father's name from marriage.

This is wrong then
Edward b. 7 Dec 1815 c. 14 Jan 1816 Aston Juxta Birmingham, Warwick
Joseph Farmer & Ann
Batch: C011683

Parents as listed on Jemima's death certificate are also incorrect going by the marriage.

Big difference in age then 1820 and 1812.
