I can only find the one

James Fletcher/Jemima Osborne 16 October 1800 North Crawley Buckinghamshire.

They were married by Licence, she was a minor from Toddington, Bedfordshire and the witnesses were Thomas Fletcher and Mary Cobans.

Beds Archives hold the will of James Fletcher, farmer & grazier, of Toddington ref ABP/W 1812/48

... baptised Toddington in 1782 ? I've not confirmed that yet.

Must have been William Cumberland's second marriage.

Robert 30 draper and Ann 30 in 1841 are probably children of William's first marriage - to an Ann??

Qld. deaths usually have mother's maiden name but not this time.

Death 10 July 1879/C01854 Twine Anne - - * aged 69 years

In the 1841 Census there are Robert Cumberland born 1806, Ellen Cumberland born 1816 and Ann Twine born 1811. Looking in the 1851 Census I can ind a Robert Cumberland, a farmer, born Houghton Rye, Beds with wife Eleanor . In 1861 they are in London and he is a Manufacturer born Houghton Regis, Beds

Baptisms
1813 Ann Cumberland Houghton Regis parents William and Susannah
1808 Robert Cumberland Houghton Regis parents William and Susannah

Thanks Emeltee.

I will check my notes tomorrow. I think there are 2x William Cumberland and something does not fit.
There are several topics and nothing was fully sorted previously.

Houghton Rye and Houghton Regis - I've not seen the images so I presume one is a transcription error.

Houghton Regis, just north of Dunstable is the correct one.

Sorry Dave but you can forget the William/Susannah bit as they were still having children in the 1820's. Should have checked more thoroughly before I posted.

FreeReg have the following baptisms to a William and Ann in Houghton Regis
Sophia 1803
William 1806
Robert 1808
Sarah 1810

but no sign of an Ann.

Marriage by Licence in Linchlade/Linslade, Buckinghamshire19 Jan 1801
William Cumberland, Yeoman, Houghton Regis, Beds and Ann Cotching of Linchlade/Linslade
Witnesses William Hickenbottom and William Johnson

Thanks Emeltee.

This is complicated and I'll have to return to it tomorrow.

Not that Ann.

There's a Thomas bapt in HR in 1780 s/o Thomas and Susan Cumberland and a Thomas bapt in HR in 1781 s/o William and Ann.
There's a William bapt 1775 s/o William and Ann and a William bapt 1788 s/o Thomas and Susan.
There is also a Sophia Cumberland d/o William and Ann bapt in HR 1803, poss witness on Job Twine's first marriage??

Job TWINE & Elizabeth FLETCHER
14 Apr 1824 Great Gaddesden, Hertford, England
Marital Status Single
Spouse's Marital Status Single

His first marriage was to Elizabeth Fletcher (sp, otp) on 14 April 1824 in Great Gaddesdon, also by licence. Witnesses John Cumberland and Sophia Cumberland and James Fletcher. Record says with consent of guardians (?). Fletchers and Cumberlands might be related.

Elizabeth died 1830.

Thomas & Hannah ruled out as parents of Ann as they have a married dau Ann.

That leaves another Thomas and 2x William.

Not easy when you start guessing relationships in 1841 census.

The William baptised 1788 is unlikely to be the William who married Ann Cotching in 1801 as he would only be 13. He's more likely to be the William 1775 son of William and Ann.

Sophia is probably a sister so parents William (son of William & Ann) and Ann ?? but no baptism for a daughter Anne.

Age at death points to 1810 though.

What about Ellen age 25 in 1841? No baptism in Beds on FreeREG.
