Jennings help

Hi all. i am new to the site and in need of help before i go crazy.

I have a marriage of John Jennings and Mary Smith.

I have Found them to be married in 1816 in wolverhampton.

The marriage Record Shows nothing of help at all with tracing any parents or birth of john. I have had the original marriage looked at in stafforshire record office and it mentions nothing other than John was a widow at time of marriage.

I have Found a possible death for john in wolverhampton in 1840. i am a little dubious about ordering cert for it unless i really have no choice as i am not 100% sure this is my man.

John is not on the 41 census... although mary and 2 of the kids are... but the 41 census does not give marital status so cannot be sure he actually Died before then.

Can anyone see anything in this that i am missing??

Many thanks in advance for any help
