1851, he's in Great Hampden. with parents William Free and Martha(nee.Ives).

1861, he is possibly in Hougham, Kent. Occupation, Soldier. First Battalion 60th Roy Rifles Western Heights and Citadel Dover. y.o.b is 1836, Great Missenden, Bucks.

No baptism in Great Missenden PR's for him.

Another tree has his parents as Daniel Free and Harriette(nee.Williams).! (No sources)

Did he lie about his age, or is there another Jesse Free.

I can find a Jesse Free in Dover in 1861. Soldier number 800 in the 1st Battalion, 60th Foot Kings Royal Rifle Corps.
There is another entry in 1867 for the same soldier. This come under the heading of Army Discharge and just says Died as the reason for discharge.

No other service records for a soldiet with that number that I can see.

British Armed Forces Overseas Deaths and Burials has a death for a Jesse Free in Malta giving the Death Year Range as 1860-1867 and place of death as Malta.
