Hello,

John BONE c. 30 Mar 1834 St Alphage Greenwich. d. bef 24 Dec 1904.

Described as a merchant in 1904 marriage of his son Edward Templecombe.

Spouse and other children unknown.

I'd like a look up please in 1901 and 1891 for a John BONE in Kent / Middlesex / Surrey who could fit.

Thanks.

Regards,

Dave

Hi Dave

I have been tracing a John Bone who was born St Alphage in 1834.

1841 - Edward Bone 41 No Carpenter
Ann 41 No
Edward 10 Greenwich
John 7 Greenwich
Thomas 4 Greenwich
William 2 Greenwich
Grace 4M

1851 - HO107-1587-272-8
1861 - RG9-402-108-28 - John 17 Master Carpenter, lodger
1871 - ?
1881 - RG11-726-84-63 - John married 46 Carpenter, wife Harriett
1891 - RG12 - 514-134-41 - Harriett 47 Widow

If this is your John, there's no sign of a child named Edward.

Hello dave,

Thank you very much.

That is the correct family in 1841. No doubt about it. Seems they were carpenters although John is described as a Merchant in his son's marriage in 1904.

Seems this is the marriage after all.

Marriages Dec 1875
BONE John Greenwich 1d 1353
WRIGHT Harriett Greenwich 1d 1353

And the death:

Deaths Sep 1882
Bone John 48 Greenwich 1d 510

There does not appear to be a birth reg or baptism for Edward Templecombe. He appears in 1 Park Row, Greenwich as a boarder in 1901, a marriage in 1904, and with spouse and daughter in 1911. I think more searching for his cousin Edward Thomas b. 1875 Greenwich, son of Edward (the one age 10 in 1841) is needed.

I have no doubt there are two Edward Ts. Just can't seem to find Edward Thomas after 1881. He is not with family, although older siblings are, in 1891 in 11 Park st, Greenwich. It could mean he died between 1881 and 1891 but I'm not sure yet.

Regards,

Dave
