irishgenealogy.ie has a marriage in County Clare between a John Carmody and a Margaret Scanlon which took place 28 February 1876. John was a farmer aged 25 father James, also a farmer. Margaret was a farmer's daughter aged 20 father John, a farmer. The witnesses were Pat O'keefe and Ellen Scanlon.

The Registration area was Kildysart and the Group ID is 2896445

One child only on FS and no marriage.

Ages in the shipping record are a bit out. John should be about 36 and Charles 7.

I've found three of the four other children you mention in Post#4

As well as Charles in 1880 there was a son Patt in 1882 and daughters Bridget 1878 and Mary 1877. There is also an entry for a John 1884 but clicking on the image takes you to the wrong page, no Carmody baptism, so I don't know if his parents were John and Margaret.

Date of death from Qld. BDM index and date of burial on cemetery record. Just showing the cemetery record has ages as 0 which is misleading - we know they were not aged under 1 year.
