=====
Another branch in my tree

William REGAN & Margaret Mary KAVANAGH

Children
William 1805
John 1810 ** Witness to the marriage of sister Margaret on 5 Jan 1832.
Margaret 1815

No trace of that John after 1832 - Did he get sent to Tasmania? Is he the one who died later in 1832 or is he the one who married Johanna? Or ...

====

Then there is this one with no death reg and no parents and no age:

The Sydney Herald (NSW : 1831 - 1842) - Thursday 27 December 1832 p.2
DOMESTIC INTELLIGENCE
Coroner's Inquests.
On Tuesday an Inquest was convened by Major Smeathman, Coroner for Sydney, at Sandwell's Rose and Crown Inn, Castlereagh-street, on the body of John Regan. It came out in evidence that the deceased was in the employ of Mr. Robert Cooper, and bad been ill for some time past ; when being sent to the Hospital on Monday, he suddenly expired. Verdict, died by the visitation of God.

====

And a convict John REGAN in Tasmania

And probably others.

Thanks gibbo. :biggrin:

I think it's obvious from those two published trees that those two authors don't agree on lots of things.

1889 death with age at death showing birth in 1810 would be good.

I cant find a marriage index or marriage notice for John and Johanna.
Thanks gibbo.

Well Johanna had married previously and REGAN appears as RAYDON and REARDON and it seems RYAN in NSW records:

Marriage 2252/1871 RYAN JOHN - COFFEY JOHANNA - GOULBURN

1st 2413/1860 COFFEY MICHAEL - GALAGHER JOHANNA - PENRITH

The trees seems to think John died 1889 Pomeroy = Goulburn

Death 6592/1889 REGAN JOHN - JOHN DIED ARGYLE ARGYLE

The big question ? is father = John correct? If correct then he is not the one born 1810 because father should be William. If it's an error then we can't tell.

We need an age at death for that one. Also an age at marriage if possible for the 1871 marriage. If the tree is correct then it's St Peter & St Paul RC Cathedral Goulburn and that should be on film at Mitchell Library.

I have arranged to view the film at the Mitchell Library on Thursday however the records on that film do not go as far as 1889 for Burials. :rolleyes: Last date 29 Dec 1876.

I have the burial of my 3xg grandmother in 1851 to look up plus lots of other records of baptisms and marriages.
