Hello Julie,

Thanks for looking. This may be mission impossible.

William married in Australia in 1862 and age at death suggests he was born in 1833. Not found yet in Shipping records. Described as second son of John Hirst of Huddersfield.

Looking on FS I can find no William in 1841 or 1851 in Huddersfield who fits 1833 +/-5. He could be anywhere in 1851 and by 1861 is probably in Australia but 1841 I expected to find him in RD Huddersfield - don't know what sub-RD.

Hello Julie,

Yes, thanks. And another in 1833 to a John & Mary Ann.

Two possible Esthers and two possible Mary Anns. I was trying the Mother = Esther first because it was not as common. But looking at deaths in Huddersfield there are plenty of Esther HIRSTs.

I think we are out of luck unless you can find a William born 1831-33 Huddersfield somewhere in England 1841.

This is crazy. Enter Huddersfield and this one does not show:

name: William Hirst
event: Census
event date: 1841
gender: Male
age: 9
birthplace: Yorkshire
record type: Household
registration district: Huddersfield
sub-district: Almondbury
civil parish: Almondbury
county: Yorkshire

Regards,

Dave

Hello Julie,

Thanks.

1811 marriage to Hannah DICKINSON

1814 marriage to Hannah WOODHEAD

I hope I find something in Australia that gives his mother's name. We have possibles for Esther, Mary Ann and Hannah. William named a daughter Mary Ann but that was also the name of his 2nd spouse.

Regards,

Dave
