Hi all,

Could SKS please help to locate John Giggens c1850.

I have guesstimated his age from Rosina Julia Giggens(b.1883) marriage cert.

He was deceased at the time of the wedding in 1904.

His occupation is given as Chemist.

The marriage took place in Paddington, London.

The name Giggens is not very common, but I still cannot find the little blighter.

Grateful for any help.

Steve.:)

Hi Gibbo,

Thanks for the help, much appreciated. God knows I need it.
I think I need to find him in 1881/1891/1901 census with an occupation related to Chemist.
I've been looking at the whole raft of name variations. Giggens/Gissens/Goggins. Even John as a second/third name. What makes it worse, is that I can't find a birth for his daughter Rosina/Rose/Rossetta.

So far I've found dockworkers, collar makers, prisoners, grooms, labourers, railway porter, shipping clerk
I have also found a John Gissing with a step daughter Rossetta Evans. ??
Plus another with a daughter Rossannah.

The entry you found was interesting, as he appears to have a twin called Charles.

Thanks again.

Steve.:)
