AN OLD AND RESPECTED RESIDENT PASSES
At the time of his demise the late Mr. John Gilby was probably the oldest resident of the Crookwell district, having lived in the locality for the past 74 years.
The eldest son of the late Mr. Samuel [?] Gilby, he was born at Cambridgeshire (England) on the 3rd September, 1849, so that he was 80 years of age. ...

A few errors there. Father is James and the year has to be 1848. So there are two birth reg it seems.
