Hi All

I am looking for the marriage of John Green born 1806 to Elizabeth ? born about 1801 at Kineton Their first son Thomas was born about 1826, next was Edward Green abt 1830 Kineton (hubby's ancestor) Then came David about 1835 then John 1838.

I am hoping to find Elizabeth's maiden name and also John and Elizabeth's parents names.

Thank you

Gwen

Hi Gwenyth
I noticed on 1841 census, Elizabeth was born out of the county of Warwickshire. On IGI, there is one Elizabeth born on 24 Jun 1801 at Cheshunt, Hertfordshire and one Betty born in Gloucestershire.
Elizabeths parents are Henry and Elizabeth
There is a JNO Green born 28 Nov 1802 in Kineton, parents JNO and yet another Elizabeth.
There are an aweful lot of Green's born in Kineton

Hi Dave

They are certainly confusing, It looks as though Elizabeth is missing from the cencus in 1851 and I have found a death for an Elizabeth in 1842, I have also found a John Green born 1804 Kineton in 1861 census at Eyton with a Jane Green as wife, is this his new wife? what do you think? I think it maybe an idea to get the death and marriage certs to see what they say.

Hi
I forgot to mention.. I presume you saw John on the 1871 and 1881 census returns as well as 1861

Hi Dave

Yes thank you, it looks like he died before the 1891 census, John certainly went through a big change in fortunes when he married Jane from farm labourer or Drainer to farmer employing servants and labourers including his own Grandson who is described as a servant in '61 and '71 census, an interesting story there I think.

Hi

I have now got Johns marriage cert to his second wife Jane Jones born 1829, her father is Samuel place of residence Park Eyton. Johns father was John also a farmer I cannot find him so maybe he is deceased, I would think he lived in Kineton, Warwickshire and his dob around 1775, no sign of him on 1841 census for Kineton though,
