Matthew George Farrer was born Marylebone 1852 the son of Matthew Thomas Farrer and Mary Louisa Anson who married 1848 in Marylebone.

Matthew Thomas was the Vicar of Addlington and Shirley, Croydon. He as buried there in 1889 along with wife Mary who died 1856. Photo of grave available on Billiongraves site.

It is very odd because all the others have the county first and he has the county Sussex ? last.

Yeah, odd.. At first I thought it was New Brighton, but remembered that's in The Wirral...

If two other census have Sussex and there is the birth reg then Sussex although I don't read that one as Sussex.

Clearly an error in that marriage.

The Kensington marriage itself looks OK, so does the image..

Yes, wonder what is on the marriage certificate if you were to get a copy from BDM.

Not all the information is included and the certificates are different format to what is in the Church register.

I queried a NSW marriage because the date was not in the index and was told the date could not be read. Yet I downloaded an image of the marriage register and the date was easy to read.
