Didn't find him on a general search Dave - these deaths might fit age wise, do you have Octavia's maiden name to help maybe ?

John senior died after 1901 census.

John junior died after 16 May 1941 but not with parents in 1901.

This fits in with the other post. Curious thing that the 1855 birth and the marriage have Mary's name as CLEMENT(S) but Octavia has middle name of Clarendon:

Thanks for that - wonder if they were on holiday in Dunoon (since Bearsden is outskirts of Glasgow and Dunoon was a popular "ferry 'cross the watter")- lucky them, I love Dunoon - Achnamara's probably named for a lovely little place by loch Sween - but I digress redf

Ok, thanks for looking, Woody.

It's possible the one born Jamestown in abt 1890 died young and another son born later was also named John. I have nothing yet to support that, just thinking not to rely too much on 1890 as year of birth. John is not there in 1901.

I'll post a clip of the name from the death certificate on the Documents board.

If it is not Jno. McPherson then it is just J. McPherson. I'll look for baptisms after 1901. None on FS.
