Probably other children too.

Thanks.

Hi Dave

Closest I could find for the Archer family in Staffordshire.

1901 U.K census
C.P: Burneston, Staffordshire
E.P: Etwall St Helen Burneston
R.D: Burton upon Trent

ARCHER John head 1867 age 34 Gardiner. Not Domestic Hollington, Derbyshire
ARCHER Miriam wife 1865 age 36 Findern, Derbyshire
ARCHER George C son 1895 age 6 Little Derby, Derbyshire
ARCHER John son 1896 age 5 Little Derby, Derbyshire
ARCHER Miriam daur 1895 age 5 Little Derby, Derbyshire
ARCHER Ernest A son 1898 age 3 Little Derby, Derbyshire
ARCHER Adelaide A daur 1900 age 1 Little Derby, Derbyshire

There is another ARCHER family next door in their 70's, could be John's parents. Do you want this one.

cheers

Hello crankypants,

Thank you for looking. Something does not fit. The age of the eldest child would fit this marriage:

Marriages Mar 1894 Staffordshire
Archer John Burton 6b 521
Barton Miriam Burton 6b 521

but the two I'm looking for are:

Births Dec 1895
Archer Frederick George Burton 6b 418

Births Mar 1897
Archer John William Burton 6b 446

38137/1966 ARCHER FREDERICK GEORGE W JOHN MIRIAM ST LEONARDS

I was hoping to find more children matching the names in the ARCHER 1930 ER like Hazel, Ruby, Albert, Charles ...

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Burton is on the border of Derbyshire and Staffordshire.

We won't find Hazel C or Ruby L as ARCHERs because they are the spouse of Charles Henry & Albert Claude.

There are NSW births for both Charles & Albert but to different parents which does not help. I was expecting brothers in that ER list.

I'm not sure where to look next.

Regards,

Dave

Hi Dave

1930 & 1936 N.S.W Electoral Roll – North Sydney – Chatswood (all on the one page)
ARCHER Albert Claude, 207 Victoria ave, Chatswood, dentist
ARCHER Charles Henry, Karinga, 21 Alexander avenue, none
ARCHER Hazel Clare, Karinga, 21 Alexander avenue, home duties
ARCHER Ruby Laura, 207 Victoria ave, Chatswood, home duties

If these two are brothers of Frederick & John I am not having much luck finding them in the U.K census. As they married in 1914 & 1921 they would appear much older than Fred & John??
Do you know what year the family left England.

cheers

Hello crankypants,

Thanks for looking further. I think we should look at solving this some other way. If the births in NSW BD&M are a match then they are not brothers. I may be wrong in thinking they are. They were not in my tree so I should not assume all male ARCHERs in Chatswood are brothers of Frederick & John and therefore fit in.

I'm not even sure Frederick was born in England. It looks very much like this one needs a purchase of a death certificate. Yet another one to go on the list.

I think we are stuck for now.

Regards,

Dave
