Hello crankypants,

Thanks. I've looked and can't see the 1894 marriage in the newspaper.

I presume Elizabeth didn't die before 1894. Ok, the tree has her death in 1943.

Same grave as 1957 death:

Cemetery SPRINGVALE BOTANICAL CEMETERY
Given Names ELIZABETH
Surname NORMAN
Religion NONE
Date of Service 22/01/1943
Burial Type BURIED
Location Details CHURCH OF ENGLAND, MONUMENTAL, COMPARTMENT C SECTION 16 GRAVE 20
Public Grave Y/N N
Tenure Date IN PERPETUITY - FOR ALL TIME

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Thank you very much. Sheila is one of 3 sisters, 2 still living - my great aunts.

Re Edward NORMAN. About all we know is that he married in 1894 and was alive in 1900 judging by the newspaper notice.

We can rule out the 1957, 1960 and 1965 deaths. This one is the son of the 1957 one we rules out:

Surname: NORMAN
Given Names: Edward
Father: Edward
Mother: Elizabeth PARRY
Death Place: WIND
Age: 59
Year: 1960
Reg Number: 33645
Event: D

The other one is ruled out because he was too young in 1894:

Surname Given Names Service Date
NORMAN Edward 11/05/1965

The 1965 Edward is memorialised at Fawkner Memorial Park. No other name mentioned.
Fawkner Memorial Park wishes to advise that the location of the cremated remains of the late Edward Norman aged 72 are located at Garden Of Remembrance 3 Wall Niches Section 3 Compartment D Niche 83.

The three explain the 3 in the 1954 E/R.

So, can we find any year where there are 4 of them? If not then we move on.

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Only 5? :D You can't find 7. :2fun:

Ok Rule out the one married to Elizabeth Caddy FREEMAN - married 1897.

One married Isabella BAINES but I don't have the date of the marriage, so if the marriage is before 1900 they can be ruled out.

One married Stella EDWARDS in 1913. Is this his 2nd marriage or a different person?

The one who married Elizabeth PARRY should be one of the Richmond ones.

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Thanks.

I don't have a Robert James WARK so I guess that rules out that Margaret.
She didn't marry and is not with any siblings as far as I can see in 1913. So if it's the one in St George I'd better try and find out who Christina is.

Ok, nothing stands out so I'll leave Edward NORMAN for now. Too many of them and too many Stella as well.

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

I can't see a birth or a marriage that explains Christina WARK to fit in my tree.

Birth # 12298/1868 WARK ROBERT J JAMES MARGARET MORPETH

Birth # 3436/1893 WARK CHRISTINIA J JOHN J ELIZABETH M ADAMSTOWN

Death # 27333/1953 WARK CHRISTINA JARVEY JAMES MARGARET ROCKDALE

Death # 26078/1970 WARK CHRISTINA JANE JOHN ELIZABETH NEWCASTLE

The Newsastle area ones are not part of the same family that is in my tree as far as I can tell.

Regards,

Dave

Hi Dave

Australia Death Index, 1787-1985
Name: Marion Campbell
Death Place: Western Australia
Age: 93
Father's name: Robert
Mother's name: Ann
Registration Year: 1961
Registration Place: Perth, Western Australia
Registration Number: 44

Big age gap between Marion & Frederick. Is WHITFORD her maiden name, can't see a previous marriage. Can't see a Whitford birth to Robert & Ann in Australia.

cheers

Hello crankypants,

Thanks. Yes a big age difference. I don't know but if you would like me to guess I'd say it was her 2nd marriage. :)

I'm stuck hence the b. ? I couldn't find anything that seemed to fit.

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Thanks for all your help this year.

That's it for this topic.

You may have the rest of the week off if you like. :)

You could look at the Certificates one :D But I don't think you'll find the marriage.

Dave

Hello crankypants,

No, only mentions brother James.

Brother George and family arrived Jan 1857 and brother Joseph & Mary arrived Dec 1857. Death cert says James arrived about 1863 but I can't see him as LUTON or LEWTON. There is a Jas. in 1854 but that can't be him.

This is a most difficult family. Almost all the births/baptisms and marriages between 1800 and 1860 can't be found.
Probably because they were NC = Non-Conformist. :D

Regards,

Dave
