In the 1861 Census John Reekie is living with his daughter Lillias Swan in Hope Park Square, St Cuthberts.

John Reekie father Widower 82 formerly schoolmaster Edinburgh.

I cannot see an original image so cannot confirm that the occupstion has been transcribed correctly. All the other info I can find on John is that he was a Coal Merchant. It is definitely the correct John Reekie as Lillias Swan nee Reekie was born 1808 in Kinross to John Reekie, Merchant, and Isabella nee Hogg
