I can't find a baptism for Harriet.

John Wallis RUNCIMAN b. 31 Aug 1853 Co Wexford, Ireland

Both arrived in Australia before 1898. ???

They married in NSW in 1898 but I can't find either in shipping records. Yes, I know that marriage seems a bit late. I hope we at least have some luck with Harriet.

I didn't have the burial and headstone MI. Age at death confirms the 1853 birth for John.

Yes, they are three of his sisters. Others of the family also arrived including brother Thomas born 1856. Thomas has not been found in shipping records and based on age I ruled that one out for John W. But, then I can't explain the John in that record.

I've not had a chance yet to look at the film.

So we have a different birth date to search for Harriett now.

I seen that one in the QLD archives. I didnt bother with it as there is a fella named Morgan who travelled on the same ship as her so i just figured husband and wife.

Another reason I ruled him out. He was born like all of them in Co Wexford not Co Meath:

I wonder if he is a cousin or something - or even not related.

That tree is reliable. One branch of the family ended up in NZ. Most of those who came to NSW settled initially in Bathurst.

There are deaths in NSW for Daniel and Charlotte MORGANs but I don't know yet if her parents did arrive or not.

The NSW assisted indexes supposedly only go to 1896 so she could have turned up in 1897

I really don't know how one from Meath would fit in, if at all.

Yes, John and his brother Thomas.

I can't find Daniel & Charlotte in 1861 or 1871 census. That may or may not mean they left early for Australia. We'd better check again using the abt 1865 not abt 1859 birth for Harriett.

I can't find a baptism for Harriett.

Oh well. Looks like I had better check all the Daniel and Charlotte deaths in TROVE.
