I didn't get the burial yesterday so can't confirm John died/buried 1 Aug 1836. If we are very lucky it will list the ship.

How do we know the 1836 death is the convict per 'Earl St Vincent"? Several other John Storey convicts.

... discharged soldier not deceased constable. An error by the minister ??

That minister baptised the children so he should know.

About 7 years ago, Mr Storey, then in the army, cohabited with his present wife, previously to their inter-marrage, and she bore him a daughter, who was christened Catharine Storey. Shortly after the birth of the child, Mr Storey married the mother, and they lived happily together, Mr Storey paying every attention that a father could pay to his little daughter, of whom he was extremely fond. Mr Storey and his family proceeded to Van Diemen's Land, etc

A bit of a puzzle.

We know the convict ended up in Bathurst. We have no marriage for John to Mary Ann.

The convict ended up as a constable for a short time.

I think the minister would have known if John was a discharged soldier or a constable.

I hope the burial has the name of the ship.

The trees have no idea at all.

Margaret was born and baptised in NSW yet her parents never left England. Rather clever of them.
