Hello,
I am trying to track down JOHN WEARDEN born approx 1863 in Lancashire, prob Preston or area. In later census (1901) he is shown as being a wood joiner at Mill St. North. Preston. Alas I have been folowing what seems to be a wrong path with this chap so have no details re parents or siblings. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Pat

Hello pejay,
thank you so much for your interest and your assistance. I am discounting the first family you recorded becouse I know thats John's wive was called Hannah, but the second one, despite the spelling of the name sounds very promising. The dates, location and John occupation all seem to fit. Is it possible to pick this family up on any earlier census or even find the father Edward when he lived at home with his parents, in an effort to establish if the name was changed somewhere along the line or if it was just an enumerators error. Thanks again. I do appreciate the help. I have follwed this chap down a wrong line and have wasted months doing it ugh!!!
best wishes
Pat

Pejay,
thanks again for your continued interest and help, it is most gratefully recieved. I think this may well be the one, and a search of the earlier census returns would be great as I do not have such access.
Thanks again for all your help ( and not just in my case) and best wishes
Pat

Hello Alan,
thanks so much for your interest and help. You are def on the right track with this family, I remember Norah as a very young boy. Is there any ref to a Robert (Bob) Wearden in this family. Dont know year or place of birth but he would have died in Padiham Lancashire in the late sixties or early seventies.
Thanks again mate,
Pat
