John Williams + Elizabeth ?

Hi Friends,

Could I again ask for your kind help, I am attempting to find out the maiden name of Elizabeth born in Mold, Flintshire 1818
She was married to John Williams born 1823 at LLanarmon which lies on the border of Flintshire/Denbighshire. In the 1871 Census they are living at Hendrebiffa, Flintshire, with children Isabella J Williams born 1857 at Corniston Lancashire,
Robert E Williams born 1863 at Mold, Flintshire
Elizabeth Wheldon (Aunt) born 1796, Mold Flintshire,
and Thomas Francis born Mold 1852

This is from RG10 PIECE 5650 FOLIO3 PG22 GSU ROLL 892482

I cannot trace this family before 1872 or find John and Elizabeths marriage, I thought that they may have married at Ruthin which is near Llanarmon but nothing seams to tie in there, and Mold does not seem to have a place for registration.

I may be suffering from William blindness.

Gwen, Mold came under Holywell registration district, I am sure gedcom will be here shortly to assist. Unfortunately there are a fair few John Williams marrying Elizabeths between 1840 and 1850 in Holywell.

Funnily enough I have been sat working my way back through the census to your 1871. I think I found John in 1851 but as a lot of the census for Wales is missing and damaged in 1861 - some of Flintshire included I wonder if they just happen to be on a missing piece.

I have been having a look for a suitable marriage but as Isabelle was born in Lancashire do you think they got married in England. Without the 1861 it is difficult to say how many children they had, if any, before Isabella.

Found a possible birth for Isabella if birthplace should be Coniston, Lancs

Q1 1857, Williams Isabella Jane, Ulverston 8e 609.

But if it is coniston, it should come under Church Coniston Coniston changed to Ulverston in 1894.

Of course if you were to order this cert it would give mothers maiden name.

Thank you so very much, I have decided to send for Robert E Williams birth cert, have found referance No on N wales BMD site when I get that it should tell me Elizabeths maiden name, I hae found a possible marriage for John to an Elizabeth Griffiths in 1847 at St Marys, Mold, but will wait for Roberts Cert to be sure.
