Hello crankypants,

Thank you very much. That fits. I had born Lanark in my database then I changed it to 'where ?' because I had nothing to support my claim. :D Isabella died in Prince Henry Hospital.

Dave

Hello crankypants,

I can't find the marriage in NLA nor can I find anything in any record in Australia that confirms her middle initial is C. Another SANDS descendant must have told me Isabella was born in Lanark. I'll see if I can find some other way. This one is a puzzle:

Death # 5938/1922 SANDS ISABEL DAVID ISABELLA HURSTVILLE

I can see no other David SANDS + Isabella marriages in NSW.

Yes, I know, the marriage to MURPHY was in 1920. :D

Dave

Hello crankypants,

So far I can't find anything in NLA. I'm wondering if William McFARLANE's spouse was Agnes RENNIE.

Dave

Hello crankypants,

I have it now. :D

The Sydney Morning Herald - Saturday 29 August 1931 p.11
FUNERALS
MCFARLANE -The Relatives and Friends of Mr. WATT MCFARLANE, Mr. and Mrs. D. SANDS and Mr. and Mrs. G. MURPHY are invited to attend the Funeral of their beloved SISTER-IN-LAW and AUNT to leave her late residence, Glasgow, 62 William street Mascot, THIS DAY at 3 o clock.

I can't see a marriage of William to Agnes RENNIE. Possibly Isabella's middle initial is R=Rennie but for some other reason, or perhaps is not Rennie. I have no idea what the S is for.

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

:2fun:

Thanks. Well now. What is going on? George and Isabella had 2 children, Bruce and Heather Jean. So who is Matilda Teresa?

9479/1944 MURPHY PERCY JOSEPH MCGINESS MATILDA THERESE GOSFORD

Confuses me more.

Death # 23604/1958 MURPHY PERCY JOSEPH ANDREW GOSFORD

George's parents are Andrew and Mary so possibly Percy is a brother.

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Thanks. I'm not reading anything into the fact Isabella didn't have 'Grandview' in the E/R listing. But I still can't find her death and I'm still puzzled by that 1922 death for an Isabella SANDS.

I have all the funeral notices for Ellenor Jane.

Regards,

Dave

Hello crankypants,

Any sign of William John JOHNSTON in 1913 or in Sands Dir?

I'm having problems with his father Captain John because there are references in NLA to two Captain John JOHNSTONs. That will be the next post here. :)

Dave
