Hello vizz,

After two marriages with a change of family name sideways off the main line I stop the branch in my tree, hence I had none of the children in my database. The name is not always JOHNSTONE in the records and often the details were provided orally hence mistakes such as B for G. This looks like the marriage and I can see 3 children:

5776/1900 JOHNSTON GEORGE B BEGNELL MARY E BATHURST

Births
22894/1905 JOHNSTON DOROTHY V M HERBERT G MARY E GLEBE
13174/1907 JOHNSTONE LINDA A A HERBERT G MARY E GLEBE
3728/1910 JOHNSTON PHYLLIS T HERBERT G MARY E GLEBE

Deaths
9330/1908 JOHNSTONE RUBY M HERBERT G MARY E GLEBE
9506/1911 JOHNSTONE LINDA A A HERBERT G MARY E CAMPERDOWN
13325/1925 JOHNSTON DOROTHY M HERBERT G MARY TAMWORTH

Possible marriage:
19329/1937 EGAN LEOLIN PATRICK JOHNSTONE PHYLLIS THEA GLEBE

EGAN Phyllis Thea Funeral notice 24APR2009 Death 99 at Nazareth House Northern Daily Leader (Tamworth) 25APR2009

I'll keep looking.

Regards,

Dave

Clara had a child to the Cowling fella by the looks of things. Not sure if you wanted or needed info on Clara but posted this anyway.

Found Clara's death notice and has names on there so i did some checking out on them.

The Sydney Morning Herald
Wednesday 10 June 1942

Cowling - June 9 1942 at Camden hospital. Clara E Cowling late of Campbelltown beloved mother of Murial, Bert, Reg and Lou Johnstone and Myra Bow.

I then checked for marriages for first name Myra and groom as Bow and found this.

1008/1922
Groom BOW RUPERT H
Bride COWLING MYRA L
District GLEBE

I then checked births for a Myra Cowling and found this

12370/1897
COWLING MYRA L
Father WILLIAM
Mother CLARA
district GOULBURN

Maybe a possibility that your Clara married a William Cowling. so far i havent been able to find a marriage for the pair tho.
Im still looking for David's death, so far i havent been able to find a death with parents as charles and anne.

Thanks to your help and site suggestions we have found other family members.
The telephone directory wasn't any help, but good old google found a relative that we are now emailing.

Hello Lewin,

welcome to FHUK.

This is the last reference found that could be David:

1936 N.S.W Electoral Roll – Werriwa – Woonona
JOHNSTONE David, Stanhope street, Woonona, miner

Do you know when and where he died?

Regards,

Dave

Hi ,
I came across this today. Are you still looking for descendants? I grew up in Sydney and knew Rae Wilkie, née Nutt. She was my mothers best friend from schooldays. I know quite a lot About Roy Nutt. Rae and Howard had three children, Amanda (Mandy) Deborah (Debbie) and Stuart. My brother was recently in contact with Mandy who was born in 1949, like him. If you or anyone is keen to have more information, I will happily provide it. I have photos of Roy Nutt on his cabin cruiser in Sydney harbour, along with son Ken.
Huntress3 from canberra.
