Hi All,

I'm hoping someone can help because i'm really confused at the moment !
From following census' I have an ancestor called Joseph Buck Curtis born Mere, Wroughton, Wiltshire c1843 the problem i've got is that their appears to be two Joseph Curtis' born in Wiltshire who both married Mary Ann !!! How do I go back further than Joseph Buck if i dont know which to follow ? The wrong Joseph i beleive moved to London but as far as I can tell my Joseph B stayed around Wiltshire and I believe his father to be Luke c1817 from the census but I could be barking up the wrong tree ???

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Hi Sarah,

As both married a Mary Ann one of their childrens birth certificates will give mothers maiden name, once you have this then you can trace the marriage, the certificate will have the fathers name and occupation, then go for the birth certificate which will give fathers name and occupation and mothers maiden name.
