Joseph Hessey 1827

Hi all,
Could some luvverly person have a look for this man in 1861.

Born- c1827. Bracknell, Berkshire.

In 1871 he is a Butler.
In 1881 he is out of employment.

He was married to Elizabeth Goodey in 1855 Marylebone.
I have his wife in 1861 with daughters, Catherine and Sarah in Marylebone.

Any help please.

Found a Joseph HERSEY, this one is unmarried, image could be HESSEY, when you look at other names with a “r”.

HERSEY Joseph servant un 1827 age 34 Footman Bracknell, Berkshire

Is he too far from home??

That appears to be a different Joseph.

I already have my Joseph in 1871 in Knightsbidge in London as a Butler.

But I will look your find up, just in case.

Still need him in 1851.

Where in 1851. I have not found him before 1871. This could be the man as the missus is on her own with kids in 1861.

I have searched Berkshire for Hessey/Hersey/Hosey/Nossey/Nessey/Kessey and just about any other .....sey.
I'm now reasonably sure this is the man you've found. Need to get the old parish registers and certs now.

Found William Hessey - Cordwainer on 1851 census sample. Details as 1841.
Also a potential brother who is a Master tailor.

Am researching Hessey family from Easthampstead and am fairly sure that I have Mary Hessey (b. 1824) from same family as your Joseph. Recent information from Scottish death certificate gives her parents as William and Catherine and his occupation as shoemaker. She would probably have left home by 1841, and marries David Sibbald in London 1846. Family documented thereafter.
