Must be nearly a full house now, Dave

Any more loose ends?
You are game to ask.

Joseph PEACOCK b. abt 1821 - no problems with that side of the family - all born after parents married.

Joseph not found in 1841 and living with Elizabeth in 1851 but marriage not until 1859 as per post #1.

So, why are children James, Joseph and Isaac given the middle name Lear and the family name PEACOCK? Is Elizabeth the mother? If Elizabeth is the mother why are the birth reg not in the name of LEAR?

It can't go away. :2fun:

There are too many cases where marriage reg and birth reg have mother's name as expected if born before the marriage. I have copies of several because I wanted to be sure. This is one of my direct lines.

My attempt to rule out Mary LACY has failed because I can't find a single tree.

At least Joseph used his middle name in marriage reg and 1911. James didn't.

The closest I can find for Joseph. 1911 has born Bristol.

Births Dec 1845
Peacock Joseph Clifton 11 269

This fits for James:

Births Sep 1842
Peacock James Keynsham 11 110
Baptism:
England & Wales Christening Records, 1530-1906

Christening Date: 27 Oct 1843

Age at Christening: 1
Father's Name: James Peacock
Mother's name: Ann

Edit: Possibly Not...

Sorry Geoff, not a thing on Mary LACY. We can return to her in 3 months.

Several other gaps. Doubt they would have Mary Ann and Mary Jane.

Looking for a death for Ann:

Deaths Sep 1861
Peacock Annie Frome 5c 336

1861 7 April so died soon after the census.

Re William MASON grandson aged 6 in 1881 - looking for parents in 1881 and a death for Elizabeth Ann MASON not having much luck.

They were in Wales in 1851 and Frome 1861.

This may not be the right Elizabeth in Keynsham and the other census might be wrong in saying Elizabeth was born in Frome because there is no reg to support Frome:

Births Mar 1855
Peacock Elizabeth Keynsham 5c 757
