I searched in FS for any Joseph residing in Glamorgan:

1851
name: Joseph Peacock
age: 37
gender: Male
birthplace: Warmley, Glamorganshire
relationship to head of household: Lodger
record type: Household

That would be b. Warmley, Gloucestershire - E of Kingswood, N of Oldland and NE of Hanham.

An interesting one because I don't have a Joseph born abt 1814.

I don't have a John in my tree:

Joseph Peacock
England, Births and Christenings, 1538-1975
christening 6 Jun 1819 Oldland, Gloucester
residence Oldland, Gloucester, England
parent John Peacock, Elizabeth

Possible depending on age at baptism.

Another possibility..

There are trees that have a Joseph b. Bitton 1800 and bap. Hanham 1806.
Excerpt from tree entry re. bap.
"Hanham, Gloucestershire, England
Bristol & Avon FHS Vols 11 - 14 Index of bapts. 1754 - 1812"

So he was bap. 6 years after his birth.

It also says, 1832 Probate, mentioned in fathers' will.

Mar. Frances Poole 1823 St Mary's Bristol (not validated)

Lived mainly in Bridgwater, Somerset. d. Bridgewater 1861.
Q3 1861 Peacock Joseph Bridgwater 5c 273

Hello Geoff,

Thanks but that is rather curious because I have a copy of the baptism record off the CD and it lists Hanham on 7 Sep 1806 - parents Isaac & Hannah and no age is mentioned.

This is the Will in question:

Wife Hannah - Children Daniel, Ann (Wife of John Bryant), Mary, Joseph, Aaron
Witnesses: John Tompkins, Abner Howes, George Walker
Proved at London 5 Nov 1832 - PCC Prob 11/1808

I did see and dismissed the Bridgewater one.

Can Joseph & Frances be found in 1841, 1851 and 1861? I'd like to see pob as listed in 1851 and 1861.

Regards,

Dave

Older sister Mary was baptised the same day and the record shows she was 4 years old.

Dinah baptised 5 Oct 1800 at 18 months.

Ann baptised 5 Oct 1800 at 4 years.

Doing 2 at a time.

The tree also shows this for his sister, Mary b. 1802

Excerpt:
"Hanham, Gloucestershire, England
Bristol & Avon FHS Vols 11 - 14 Index of bapts. 1754 - 1812. The register states that she is 4 years old."

Thanks. That fits.

Not all ages are recorded so the 1800 could come from age in census. I can't see how the 6 years can appear on one CD but not others of the set.

Ok. Bitton. Do we have an occupation?

Then there is a large gap because the next is Aaron baptised 1808 and 1851 census has Aaron born 1808.

Ann 1796 1800 4 yrs
Dinah 1798 1800 18 mo
Joseph 1800 1806 not listed
Mary 1802 1806 4 yrs
Aaron 1808 1808 not listed

Thanks Geoff. :) Elder brother Daniel was a fish monger.

Also interesting the Will has the children listed the way I originally had them - Daniel, Ann, Mary, Joseph, Aaron.

Thanks Geoff.

That fits for Aaron. So born and baptised 1808. I didn't have he was a coal miner.

2x Dinah both died young.

That is very interesting - does it actually say 'nee Wilmott' ? That would be very rare but very handy if it does.
