Joseph Horsey buried 28 February 1830 Exeter St Mary Major aged 33.

I can find nothing on Sophia Horsey after the 1841 Census. She can't be found in any other Census, no death or burial and no remarriage as far as I can see. Nothing more found for son Josiah either other than his baptism.

Joseph and Sophia had three children Samuel Frederick born 7 September 1822, Josiah Anstice born 1 October 1824 and Sophia born 4 April 1826. They were baptised together in a nonconformist ceremony but no baptism date given, just date of birth. Joseph's occupation is given as Wine Merchant.

I cannot find anything for any of the children apart from Josiah in the 1841 Census.

It looks like Josiah went to America as I found this extract regarding his death from the Morning Post London 3 March 1897

"On 25th Ult at Chelmsford Essex, from the effects of an accident on the railway, Josiah Anstice Horsey of New York and Brooklyn, USA in the 72nd year of his age."

Thanks emeltee.

It fits in many ways but 1892 electoral roll has the same address as 1881 census. ??

Or the electoral roll has a 'date made up to' in 1891.

Death registered in Lambeth ?

I can't find two marriages.

Something is not right.

HODGE, FREDERICK GEORGE - EAMES
GRO Reference: 1861 J Quarter in TIVERTON Volume 05B Page 450

HODGE, FREDERICK GEORGE - TUCKER
GRO Reference: 1868 D Quarter in TOTNES Volume 05B Page 172

There is no Frederick as a son in census.

If daughter Margaret Hodge (22 in 1871) married Frederick George Hodge ?? I can't find that marriage.

I can't find a marriage for a Frederick Hodge to a Margaret.

I was just about to give you the marriage of Anna Sara when your reply came through.

You won't find a birth for Frederick George Hodge as, according to the 1901 and 1911 Censuses he was born in the USA to British parents. In 1911 Census he states that he has been married to Margaret for 27 years so they married c1884. however I cannot find a marriage and I cannot find Frederick George in England in 1881. Consequently it looks as though they may have married in the US before coming to England.

Thanks emeltee.

The family was split in 1871. Margaret and Anna were with their father.

I can't find Frederick and Margaret in 1911 on FS.
