Joseph Turner 1881 Where is he?

Hi

I am looking for the parents and any siblings of George Turner born in Barnsley 1876, father's name as given on George's marriage cert in 1904 is Joseph Turner (deceased).

George was living at Worsbrough Common at the time of his marriage.

Any help appreciated as i simply cannot find them!:'(

Hi Myroots,

There are 4 George Turners on the 1881 census coming up with birth years 1871, 1874, 1876 and all with father Joseph but not with birthplace Barnsley. What occ did he give for his father on the marriage certificate?. Found a George Turner with mother Hariett and brother William on the 1891 census civil parish Wombwell reg district Barnsley. Will post on the 1891 census forum.

Hi Myroots,

Assuming that the info on the 1891 census is the right family. I've looked on the partial marriage index but unable to find a marriage for a Joseph Turner and Harriett, mind you this was in the county of Yorkshire unless they married somewhere else. Still unable to locate them in 1881, they could be under another name or not on the census or a page missing. I've got one like that, dosnt matter what I do still cant find them. Have you got George's birth certificate as it could be that the parents never married.

No i haven't sent for George's birth cert yet - but guess i need to as then i will be certain who the mother is and can then recheck for the parents marriage.
