Am trying to get a lead on my gr grandfather, Joseph Twigg. He was born about 1833, but I am not sure where, as he seemed to be a bit vague, giving St James, St Marylebone, as two places. He was a domestic coachman, and his father was Joseph, a Farrier. In 1855 Joseph married Mary Anne Cooke, daughter of Hannah and Thomas Cooke. Just a small lead on either Joseph would be wonderful.

Hi Bev,

Welcome to FH UK Forum. :)

As the birth is before 1837 (natinal records started 1837), Free BMD or other sites are not usefull.

I have found on the LDS site, the following (Which does not confirm the birth and you must verify the data):
Birth: 1833 Marylebone, Middlesex, England
Death: Sep 1903 Croydon, Surrey, England
Burial: Croydon, Surrey, England
The information is on the Ancestral File, which means it has been entered by someone which may be correct or not! (Please click on the SUBMITTER - DETAILS link to find that person)
There is also a 1881 census record found:
Joseph Joseph TWIGG Household
Male

Other Information:
Birth Year
Birthplace Marylebone, Middlesex, England
Age 48
Occupation Coachman Domestic Servant
Marital Status M
Head of Household Joseph TWIGG
Relation Head

You will probably have to confirm the details at the local Studies FH Center.

Hope that helps, please let us know how you get on Bev, :)

Regards,
Dave
