Came across this chap in 1901.

Civil parish Bootle Cum Linacre

140 Berry Street

Edward Morgan head age 58 occ dock labourer
Ann wife age 49
Mary dau age 26
Rose Ann dau age 11
Joseph Wild son in law age 28 occ solider on sick leave
Thomas son age 1 born Bootle

I think Mary is Josephs wife, though she is down as Morgan her maritial status is married



All the others born Liverpool

1881 census has the Wilde's at 70 Highgate St
You need to have a look at the census, Joseph 50 looks like he's widowed, yet Catherine is listed as wife 35 but I think she may also be a widow??
Kate, Joseph, Thomas & Lawrence.
They are lodging with Johnson family, the head of family listed as their father.Anc## drives me mental at times...

with regard to parents Thomas & Catherine
1891 has Thomas Wild 53 fireman mariner seas, Catherine 47, and young Thomas 16yrs, all bn Lpool.
70 Highgate St, something listed after number 70, could be a court number??
lodgers Barrow family.

according to his Military posting sheet his father was Thomas, mother Catherine, brothers Thomas and John, and sister Catherine, and they lived 70 Highgate St, Liverpool

My Aunty just confirmed on Joseph wilds birth cert that his father was thomas and mother was catherine(nee burns)
well done supersleuth! lol:biggrin:

also there is a connection with arabs and the wilds,something todo with one of josephs brothers or sisters we think,in derby!!! the arab had kids called diana and david!! I thought the arab/indian link was with the mcgradys,now confirmed as wilds!! how strange love to chase that up!!

hi,,,a clasp is like a bar that fits across a medal ribbon.......they show the battles or places that a man served in in a particular campaign. your man had 1 for orange free state plus 5 others....

3rd (Reserve) Battalion
August 1914 : in Warrington. A depot/training unit, it remained in UK throughout the war. Moved on mobilisation to Crosby and in May 1917 went on to Barrow in Furness for a role with the Barrow garrison and remained as such throughout the rest of the war.
