HO107 Piece 294 Book/Folio 12/10 Page 15
Civil Parish: St James
Hundred: Poole
County: Dorset
Registration District: Poole
Sub-RD: Poole
ED: 5
Address:
John Pretty 70
Mary Pretty 65
Ann Taylor 65
Mary Williams 20
Clard Wather 5
John William 9 Mo
Ann Walker 5 Not BIC

Ann aged 5 is the grand daughter of John & Mary. Her mother is Ann Taylor PRETTY b. 1809

So perhaps Ann Taylor 65 and Mary are sisters - ages rounded down.

I've done quite a lot of family history and local history in the East End of London.
Stepney and Whitechapel are next door to each other, with Mile End Road running through the top of both. Above Mile End Road is Bethnal Green.
I would say Mile End New Town is probably split between Whitechapel and Stepney depending on which end you lived.
