Looks a very interesting site!
Since I was born, still live in Kent and many of the family branches are still based in the County it could be useful for climbing over some of those brickwalls!
I may even add it to my 'favorites' along with FHUK!!

Hi Prefabkid!

Agree with you regarding Kent Geneology.

So many bookmarks to choose from but 'Kent Online Parish Clerks' and 'Historicaldirectories' stand out well as do 'Blacksheep' and 'The Proceedings of the Old Bailey, London 1674 to 1834'. All of these sites have endless information as well as being totally absorbing reading. Found ancestors both sides of the Dock in the Old Bailey site!

Hi Gemmas' pal

Many thanks for the sites have had a look at 'historicaldirectories' and 'Blacksheep'. Will look at the other 2 when I get a chance.

Unlike yourself, I only had ancestors one side of the Dock, the wrong side! They were father and son and served several years in Maidstone Gaol. Will have to investigate to see if I can find out what they were in there for. >:D
