keyworth phone directory

Hello,

I am looking for the names of Trollope, Shipman and or Goucher who may have been in the phone directory for Keyworth Notts around the early to mid 1930's. Would be grateful for any help. Thanks

Hi Julie,
Thanks for that. There seems to be a connection between between these 3 families but im yet to find it. I thought they might have known each other from Keyworth but maybe not. I was hoping all 3 names would be in the directories but then that would have made it to easy. I will eventually get there with it and in the mean time, if anything it is a challlenge.

Electoral Registers will be a much better bet. I quite like challenges as that is what makes genealogy so fun.

Its a pity that electoral registers are very patchy for online coverage. Hardly any are online for pre 2000.

Hi Gibbo...was driving my HGV to Nottingham today,via Keyworth!...got some pics of Fairfield House and will send them on to you as promised...no one was in but got talking to a neighbour and they were adamant that NO one by the name of Swain has lived there.....but someone by the name of Swann(or Swan)....in fact it was a Doctor Swan....si ime wondering if the spelling was wrong..maybe Swain should be Swan,its very similar...now Gibbo ime only telling you what the neighbour told me,so if ime wrong apologies!
Ref the house its in a beautifull English leafy lane...and the Doctor would have had a half mile walk to Keyworth...lucky him!..as a footnote Gibbo i noticed a lovely big church in Keyworth...it dominates the town,i couldnt stop because of the lorry but it could be worth looking at the records there if you are still interested....Regards Lee.
