I'm looking for the marrige of JOHN KNOTT (corrected) probably to a Hannah surname unknown.

I have found on Free BMD the following which is around the right dates/place but a bride is missing. Is there any way of finding who belonged to who or who is John's bride.

Marriages Dec 1895 (>99%)
Barnes Mary Elizabeth Worcester 6c 538
Hill Frank Worcester 6c 538
Knott John Worcester 6c 538

I believe John Knott had 2 children, John W. b. 1898 and Annie b. 1901.

Appreciate your help,
Sashar

Re: KNOTT Henry marriage

I believe John KNOTT was born as John WILLIAMS Mar Q 1874 Ross, Herefordshire.

Parents George Henry and Jane WILLIAMS. George Henry changed his name to Henry Mayne KNOTT between 1877 and 1881 so I thought John would have married as a KNOTT.

I thought he should have married as a KNOTT but maye NOT!

I think someone checked 1901 Census looking for them as KNOTT's but couldn't find them.

I can't find my reference to where I got the name Hannah and the children's names from. Not a good secretary am I.

Re: KNOTT Henry marriage

What would I do without you.

So John's wife was Hannah WIDDERS.

Really really appreciated,

tried every way of searching i know,,,still no reference for a Hannah Widders marriage.
According to the 1911 census, when she is a widow,,she had been married 15years,,,so it is probable that the marriage in 1895 with a missing spouse is correct.

Thanks for Hannah's birth details - that is a good fit.

According to the 1911 census, when she is a widow,,she had been married 15years,,,so it is probable that the marriage in 1895 with a missing spouse is correct.
That does seem the most likely fit doesn't it.

I really appreciate the time you've spent on this, you've helped immensly.

Kind Regards,
Sashar :)

The only one I can find in 1901 is living in Wavertree!!
Her father is Wm R Widders born in Runcorn....

and maybe Richard belongs to this family as well. Found online, Deceased in WW1:-

Widders Richard Ratcliffe born Liverpool resided Wavertree, Liverpool

I'm not sure if that could be followed up to see if it reveals any parents names?

Thankyou oznannie and gortonboy.

Was the 1861 Census in the name of WIDDOWS not WIDDERS? If so, good find!

All seems to fit well, thankyou again,

Great research G.B connecting back to Ratcliffe.

Ozn :)

Sashar, CWGC has the death in WW1 he's listed as K.R Widders, I guess it's a typo for his first initial.
Private 2nd/8th btn Kings, we should be able to find out more about him, will get back to you.
