Hi Everyone,:) Just a quick line to say that if you are looking for relatives in 17oo's and 18oo's in and around the liverpool area and extending out to Prescot, Widnes and surrounding villages try a site called ;) [Lancashire online Parish Clerks Project] go to google and type in as above, which shows parishes of Farnworth and Prescot with records of baptisms, marriages and burials through from early 18th century to middle of 19th century.A lot of families moved from Prescot and surrounding villages into the growing city of Liverpool. So if you can't find certain family relatives elsewhere you might find them here.Good luck on search :)In earlier times the West Derby hundred ran from the Mersey to the Ribble and consisted of over a hundred Parishes, within them where villages and settlements, within those, estates and Beriwicks, [they where stock and Barley farms].:) kerrymac.

Had a look at that...get alot of info from the churches, they were good at keeping records thats for sure...i often work in Liverpool or that area and it still has that sniff of the past about it.

Hi Kerry,
Thanks for the tip about the Site. I have quite a few Relies from around that area so I"m sure it will be well worth a look
Will let you know how I go on.
Best Wishes Mo

Hi

In the 1851 census of Liverpool there was 10'000 Welsh and 66'000 Irish in the city. Clegg is a good old Lancashire surname that is found in Liverpool and names such as Starkey, Cunningham and Hargreaves.
